In collaboration with AVSI and Turath, this restoration project at a house in Rihab focuses on the comprehensive repair and renewal of earthen plaster and mud roofing. The work includes assessing the condition of existing plaster, repairing structural imperfections, and applying custom plaster mixes. Additionally, the project involves testing local soils for suitability, designing a mud roof that respects traditional architecture, and supervising the restoration to ensure quality and safety standards are met. The project also features specialized training for supervisors and workers on traditional restoration techniques, materials testing, and proper plastering methods, aiming to maintain the architectural integrity and extend the lifespan of the house’s traditional materials
